I am a big fan of using the therapy ball for helping little ones learn new techniques. I think it is great for helping them to get into sitting from their back. Using the combination of the ball rolling, gravity, and my hands, they start to learn what the movement feels like for this transition while at the same time helping as they are able. This is a great early technique because also a lot of times I think that kids think they magically appear in sitting because our tendency is to pick them up and place them in sitting. So this is helping to walk them through the steps and movements needed to get there!
What other ways do you practice getting into sitting?
